Each of us has something unique to share with the world. If we choose not to share our gifts then the world will be permanently deprived of these gifts that we alone are capable of offering.
We all know that the world can benefit from more love, compassion, inspiration, courage, and authentic engagement. We have all experienced the sense of appreciation at those who have the courage to be authentic and bring their gifts into the world. Our appreciation arises from the realization that this choice is not without risk yet despite these risks they have chosen to go forward and this is inspirational. What if our choice to share our gifts with the world is the source of inspiration for someone who is hiding their gifts in the shadows out of fear? What if one of our greatest contributions from sharing our gifts is the very act of extending ourselves into the world so others can see that even when we are not met with unreserved appreciation our decision still has value insofar as having acted courageously our courage may be the spark that someone else needs to do the same?
The risk of being rejected is balanced against the benefits we experience by living courageously and authentically. While there are always risks to being authentic those who have done so report that this is a powerful and rewarding way to live. Being true to ourselves is the way that we get to experience the fullest benefits of our life and living from an authentic stance attracts others who are living similarly and those who desire to live more authentically.
If the world is presently plagued by duplicity, greed, and fear than what greater gift can we offer the world than an example of an alternative approach that is genuine, life-affirming, and loving? Ultimately we don’t have the power to determine how the world will respond to our offerings but we do know that people who choose to live as authentically as they can experience a deeper connect with others and a greater appreciation for their life. So what are you waiting for?
